1. 1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown.
relakkumarori/ a little bit blu
Putnam Valley, NY

2. About how long is your history as a Lolita?
abouts two years i think

3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion?
In middle school, my friend Caroline introduced me to manga by getting me to read Paradise Kiss. My favourite character was Miwako, who often wore lolita/ lolita inspired fashions. I think I ended up researching lolita online. I think I saw some images of gothic lolita clothing, and I thought it was so wonderful and perfect. Because it was beautiful, and a way to be feminine without showing too much skin. I didn't really have the courage to get into the fashion for awhile, but I always thought about it, and ended up doing a lot of research. I went to Japan the summer before my sophomore year in high school with a student group, and I saw a small group of lolitas on the bridge next to Harajuku station. I think they inspired me the most. Like, "these girls really do exist. People can really wear these clothes. I can wear them too"

4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita?
definitely

5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. Gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc).
i dunno. my wardrobe is still developing, but i'd say it's mostly sweet.

6. About how many Lolita friends do you have?
none :(

7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita?
it makes me happy. i feel cute. and like i'm the self that i want to be. i don't have as many worries.

8. Conversely, what's the worst thing?
the importance placed on japanese brand clothing. it makes it practically hopeless for anyone who's not japanese to try and start a successful lolita brand. which is rediculous. it's making lolita a rich girl's fashion. i worry that i wont be able to keep up with the expense that it takes to wear "respectable" lolita clothing. brand is making lolita a skinny girl's fashion as well. i worry a lot more about my size now than i would have.

9. Which Lolita Brands do you like?
here's where i sound like a hypocrite
metamorphose, angelic pretty, mary magdalene, baby, moi meme moitie, anna house, candy violet

10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned?
a hideous black bodyline op with mesh sleeves and cheep lace. and another meh bodyline wa-loli set that my little sister now uses as her last resort halloween costume. lol

11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item?
a petticoat! you cant have lolita without the poof!

12. Do you wear drawers?
always. i get worried that the wind will blow up my skirt. lol plus they add a little volume.

13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music?
right now my favourite band is Perfume. but i like BUMP OF CHICKEN a lot too.

14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita?
nowhere in particular. i usually wear it around my hometown when im hanging out with my bff. to like the mall or starbucks and such. lately i've been wearing it out on dates with my boyfriend and stuff.

15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita?
from none to twice

16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita.
i think my most embarrassing moment was when i wore this plaid its skirt to the movies while the theater was showing one of the death note movies. This kid seeing the movie came up to me and said "nice costume" and i realized that he thought i was cosplaying the girl character (whose name I don't remember! sorry). a boy in cosplay asked to take a picture with me. it was sooo awkward. looking back on it, it was a little bit of an ita outfit lol. fml.

17. What's the hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most?
i dont think there's any particular color or style of hair that's suited to it best.

18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason?
i'm still 19, but already i feel like i'm getting too old. also, i've tried to stop b/c of the heavy expense.

19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...)
nothing in particular. i guess things like the glb, or even the egl community. things that provide guidelines and such.

20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely!
i own many. lol. i'm assuming this refers to bjd's though, in which case i only have a couple. and not like crazy ones that i built myself or anything special like that They're almost all from the rozen maiden/dal/pullip collection. i think my favourite is the dal angellic pretty collab, maretti. she's soooo cute! and i love that she has a tea cup bag.

21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes?
verrry light make-up if any. i dont really know how to use it to be honest.

22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out?
no, but now that i read this that is a genius idea.

23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself?
of course. you have to be. lol. and i'm always by myself, as i have no lolita friends.

24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes& accessory monthly?
from $0 to $400

25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it?
a discounted metamorphose black kitty OP from kinokuniya for $247. either that or a victorian maiden rain jacket which i cant remember the price of.

26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods?
oh gosh. probably $1,000 including like socks and things.

27. Lolita outfits really cost money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of Lolita?
work! i'm a reckless spender. so once i've paid off all of my necessities, the rest goes straight to gifts for friends and clothes for me.

28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not.
I've bought from ITS which I think is wonderful. I never have to worry about not getting items and such. It feels very secure. I've also ordered from Anna House, which is just as safe, though I worry about the language barrier. Double Decker was extremely nice to me after I experienced troubles with my order, and always sent quick replies. Candy Violet I've had a little trouble with sizing issues, as the website was not properly updated when I placed my order, and the communication was okay. Celga... is awful.

29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best.
i don't know.

30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"?
Moitie. i'll never fit into it and it doesn't really flow with the rest of my wardrobe. but its so elegant and beautiful and soft.

31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay?
i guess to each their own? i'm not really a fan of lolita cosplay in general. but as long as the people around those who wear lolita cosplay are aware that it is indeed cosplay, and not real lolita, then i suppose its alright

32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’)
I don't think you can be too young or too old to wear lolita. personally though, I'll probably force myself to graduate sometime before I'm 30, or if i ever have children.

33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!"?
i dont want lolitas to be so negative all the time. i understand that there are rules, but i think we could all learn to be a lot kinder.

34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about?
lolitas have to be kind. not necessarily well-mannered, just kind. unless they're being harassed, in which case they should take any means necessary to defend themselves.

35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita?
i have a little more confidence. i'm less afraid to speak for myself. i feel cute sometimes.

36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita?
no. i'd crush my petti in my chair at school. and its not appropriate for work.

37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear?
all the time.

38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other?
yes. and i hope so! he's really sweet. he'll say "oh, you can wear the pink dress to the party!" or "you got a new skirt? i want to see!"

39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it?
eh. even when some of my friends had negative reactions at first they got over it. it's not like they're wearing the clothes, i am. and they think it's funny to see all the weird i attention i get from it. my older sister still hates it though i don't know why.

40. What kind of Lolita has impressed you the most up until now?
the kind that's kind and welcoming, and who can stick up for their beliefs without offending anyone.

41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made?
i wish i could, but i cant sew to save my life.

42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us.
i always liked the outfit that the girl in gianna nannini's io music video wore.

43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a simple of Lolita”?
huh?

44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita?
omg yes! i really want a son. but if i had a daughter i'd still be happy b/c i could dress her up.

45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita?
someone who's caring and carefree and likes to have fun! someone who's not overtly sexual, but not prude either. someone who's happy. and someone who dresses well of course.
